The French Chef Cookbook Julia Child
Publisher: Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group

Have turned 98 this past sunday. I'm back from vacation, and what better way to get back into the swing of things, than with Julia Child? This is the first volume in a series of books she's authoring Not only were there gorgeous food photographs that made me practically drool, there were French street scenes and action shots of French chefs that made me feel that I was right in Paris. Perhaps they were hoping to share in the success of Julia Child's The French Chef Cookbook (Knopf, 1968) by mimicking – and often exaggerating – its cover lettering, or maybe it was just an attempt to look upscale. Her cookbooks Mastering the Art of French Cooking Volumes 1 and 2, and The Way to Cook, are considered bibles in any home kitchen, or a reference for any chef. Product Dimensions: 8.4 x 5.7 x 1.7 inches. Product Details: Publisher: Knopf; 8th edition (1972) Language: English. In the Green Kitchen by Alice Waters is not a traditional cookbook, but focuses on what was missing from the aspiring conscious chef's shelf: A technique-driven volume that includes how to's, from the prosaic to the intimidating. Follow me: This entry was posted in Cocktails, Recipes and tagged cocktail, Epicurious, French 75, friday, Gin, Harry's Bar Paris, lemon, recipe, Velvet Tango Room. Some have mentioned cheese souffle, but my favorite is her Ramequin Forestiere (from the French Chef Cookbook, actually). Oddly, I've never chosen to make a French yogurt cake, which is a classic that I think everyone in France grew up eating. The attention to detail in the recipes is amazing. The French Laundry Cookbook gives you the ability to recreate his dishes if you are willing to follow them to the letter. Last week I was sick so although I was feeling somewhat better by the weekend, I wasn't up for hanging out with Julia and The French Chef Cookbook. I was so honored and thrilled when cookbook author Holly Herrick asked me to review her new and about to be released cookbook The French Cook: Sauces. Translating the Chef's Craft for Every Kitchen. The series, which lasted for ten years, combined with the success of her French cuisine cookbooks, turned Julia Child into a household name. In MY FRENCH CUISINE, for the first time, he will tell the story of his beginnings as a chef and his signature cooking at Restaurant Daniel, and will offer many recipes served at the restaurant. In celebration of Child's life and illustrious career in food and French cooking, we've collected some photos and video clips of the culinary superstar, spanning nearly five decades.
